Experimental Drawings

We did a group of experimental drawings, the purpose of this was to loosen up and try different mark making  technique. For the drawing tasks we were timed from 30 seconds to 5 minutes and for each task we were to use a different medium and a different process for example I used pencil, pen, graphite, pastel, coloured pencil. The process that we used were continuous line drawing, drawing with both left and right hand individually and at the same time, drawing without looking at the page, sgraffito (coloured pencil underneath oil pastel then etched onto) and drawing with a rubber.

I feel my continuous line drawing of the shell was the most successful as it had a very stylised look  to it. I enjoyed the exercise as my drawing technique is very loose and i got to use it in this task in timed conditions using different techniques ( sgraffito was new to me also and i really enjoyed it).
